After a foundation year at Guildford School of Art I studied Fine Art (painting) at Leicester College of Art and Design, where I worked on large abstract paintings and smaller silk screen prints. I did a postgraduate year at Goldsmith's College, and taught in secondary schools in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire until 2001.
